More than a dozen tournaments and satellites are scheduled for the ninth leg of the 2017 GUKPT and it marks the 11th consecutive year that Blackpool has hosted a GUKPT festival.
A £220 no-limit hold’em event with a £20,000 prize pool kicked off the festival on Bonfire Night with the first of two starting flights. Day 1b commences at 6:00 p.m. on Nov. 6 with the second and final day getting underway at the same time on Nov. 6.
Several other tournaments should see juicy prize pools on offer, not least because Blackpool is a hotbed for live poker tournaments. Between Nov. 6 and Nov. 11, players can get involved in such events as the £330 no-limit hold’em, £220 no-limit hold’em six-max, £165 pot-limit Omaha 4/5/6. The $165 no-limit hold’em bounty event and the showpiece tournament, the £1,100 GUKPT Blackpool Main Event with its £200,000 guarantee.

The GUKPT Blackpool Main Event has had its fair share of notable champions over the years including the likes of Priyan de Mel, Simon Deadman, Richard Trigg, and last year’s winner Tom Middleton. In Season 10, Middleton topped a field of 251 entrants to get his hands on £56,255 after a three-way chop involving Tom Hall and Richard Kellett.
